As we conclude an incredible school year, I am drawn to reflect on what it means to work and learn at Centennial High School. The students we serve, and the colleagues I work alongside, inspire and humble me daily. Our parent/guardian community is engaged and informed, and also very supportive of all of us at Centennial.
It is an honour and a privilege to be a teacher. As I share each time I meet with student teachers who hone their craft with us at Centennial, in my 26 years as a teacher never once have I resented the fact that I ‘have’ to go to work in the morning. Our work as teaching and support staff is vital, and it is also done in partnership. Nothing we do would be possible without the exceptional students we learn with and from, or without the contributions of the greater community.
So, thank you. Thank you, Centennial High School community, for helping us create a beautiful and robust place of higher education and social-emotional well-being. We wish you all a restful, joyous summer.
Sincerely,
Joe Sturgeon
Principal, Centennial High School
