First Day of Classes
Office Availability and First Day of Classes
The school office is open to parents beginning on August 24, 2026. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00am - 4:00pm, and Fridays from 8:00 AM - 1:45 PM. Registrations are done online at https://cbe.ab.ca/registration...
For the first day of classes, we will have a staggered entry as follows:
Monday, August 31, 2026
Orientation for Grade 10 students ONLY – 8:40 AM to 12:00 PM (Lunch will be provided for grade 10's)
Welcome New Coyotes!! Class of 2029
Your first day will be amazing and will set you up for success during your Centennial High School career. On this day you will:
- Make many new friends in Grade 10
- Acquire wisdom from your Grade 11 & 12 Link Crew Leaders
- Become an expert in “What Every Grade 10 Should Know”
- Meet your teachers and find your classrooms through a shortened timetable
You need to:
- Be On Time - 8:40 AM Meet outside the Gym.
- Wear comfortable clothes –you will be actively moving around and may be outside for a portion of the day
- Do not bring pens, paper, books or backpacks – just bring your comfortably dressed, smiling, glad you are a Coyote self!
- You will not need school supplies for our afternoon mini-timetable classes
Grade 10, 11 and 12 students – 1:00 PM to 3:35 PM
All students will follow their student timetable to meet their teachers and start in their Block 1, Period 1 class at 1:00 PM.

Block 2, Period 2 1:40 PM to 2:15 PM
Block 3, Period 3 2:20 PM to 2:55 PM

Student ID
August 25, 26, 27 | 9:00am–3:00pm Lifetouch will be taking all students photos, ID cards and yearbooks pictures and they will be available during these three days only in the cafeteria. No other services will be available at this time.
Lockers
School fees include the rental of a hall locker, a physical education tote box, as well as a specific program locker, if required. School combination locks will be provided for students. Please ensure that you keep your combination private.

Transportation
Parking
Parents and guardians are reminded not to park where it's prohibited during drop off and pick up times.
Student Parking
The application form for parking passes has moved to online only. Once submitted, the fee ($42, including GST) will be added shortly to your fees account. Passes are on a first come, first served basis. There are only 340 parking stalls.

School Supplies
Please bring your own basic school supplies, such as pens, pencils, and binders with paper. Your teachers will let you know if additional supplies are required.
Textbooks
Textbooks will be issued to students during the first week of classes under the direction of their teachers. Students will need their ID cards to sign out items.
Clubs & Activities
Athletics
Engaging in Athletics is an incredible opportunity we offer our students. Joining a school team is frequently linked with enhanced academic achievements, while also fostering an uplifting school atmosphere.
Extracurricular, Fine Art or Clubs
Dive into special interest clubs at your school, these could include the arts, music, and so much more. Explore your passions and interests with opportunities tailored to our school's resources. Join us and make the most of your school experience!
Lunchtime
Our cafeteria provides daily specials and baked goods at a great cost. Watch for our weekly menu's posted on the TV's in the school and our school website.
Student Pictures
Student ID cards, school pictures and yearbook pictures will be taken by Lifetouch Photography on Tuesday, August 25; Wednesday August 26 and Thursday, August 27 from 9:00am to 3:00pm in the cafeteria. Photo retakes will be on Friday, October 9.
Off-Site Activities
Keep updated on field-trips and other exciting off-site activities throughout the year. We're excited to expand on learning opportunities by stepping outside of the classroom.
