One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.

About Our Parent Society
Our Parent Society is known as CHiPS (Centennial High Parent Society).
The School Council and Parent Society (CHiPS) is a great way to be involved with the school and be in-the-know on what is happening. We meet the last Wednesday of the month with typically 8 meetings in the school year. Every 2 years we join with the Music Parent Society and Athletics for a casino fundraiser. We receive a third of the funds to support various programs and initiatives that are outside of music and athletics.
This year the parent society voted to use a portion of our casino funds on these great school wide initiatives:
- Diverse mannequins for Cosmetology
- Fish in schools program
- School lunch program
- ELL and second language tech programs
- Glider rockers for immersive education
- 3-D printer
We plan to use the remaining funds in the upcoming school year to once again enhance school programs where we can.
Any additional fundraisers you may see advertised or get a notice of are used towards guidance services support programs, teacher recognition or to host a grad breakfast. We are limited in our funds so we are limited in what we can do to support our school.
