Dear Centennial High School Community,
Last night several hundred parents and guardians joined us for our Meet the Teacher event. It is always quite awe-inspiring to see how incredibly interested and engaged Centennial parents are. Thank you to all who were able to attend.
Please continue reading for a number of updates.

Free School Avoidance Presentations for Parents
- One concerning trend we have seen over the past several years is an increase in students avoiding school in general, or specifically avoiding assessments/essays/exams
- This avoidance only delays the inevitable and extends student anxiety – it is well known that facing and working through non-toxic stress such as pending schoolwork is very beneficial to mental health and child development
- We also know that many students experience inconsistent and problematic sleep patterns
- To that end, there are two free sessions in late October for parents interested in learning more about school avoidance and sleep hygiene
- Please see the attached posters for more information

CBE Caregiver Series
- There are several other sessions available for parents and guardians, covering topics such as youth mental health, vaping, sexual health, and stress
- Please see the additional poster attached for the full list of October presentations/sessions available
