School Update - November 8
Dear Centennial High School Community,
We have so much to celebrate as we head into this new November Break. Our Remembrance Day Ceremonies this morning were beautiful, highlighted by exceptional student emcees, musicians, vocalists, technical crews, and student colour guard. Several Centennial Band alumni joined us, and Mr. Krause encapsulated what peace means for so many in a heartfelt, poignant address.
We welcomed dozens of guests from the community this morning, including several veterans. Feedback from our community included these words: “Your students are a talented, respectful and exceptional representation of their generation.” From our speakers and performers, to those behind the scenes, and just as importantly to our entire student body who composed such a respectful and honourable audience, I could not be more proud of the students of Centennial High School.
On behalf of the staff and students of Centennial High School, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our veterans and to those serving in the Canadian Forces. As today is Indigenous Veterans Day, we would like to extend a special thank you to all Indigenous veterans as well. We offer our thanks for your selfless service in the name of peace.

Green Earth Club Update!
Last but not least, please read this important message from Moses M., on behalf of our fantastic Green Earth Club:
We trust this message finds you well. Green Earth Club is thrilled to bring you exciting news as we gear up for Earth Week (November 20 to 24). To make it even more engaging, we have planned some exciting activities:
• Plant Sale (November 20 - 24):
o We will be hosting a plant sale featuring an assortment of succulent plants for $5.00; this is a fantastic opportunity to add some green goodness!
• Clothing Upcycling Drive (November 20):
o In the spirit of Earth Week, we are continuing our campaign to collect gently used clothing, which will be upcycled
o We invite students to explore our upcycled clothes and pick up some for themselves
o This is a wonderful way to promote sustainable clothing usage and reduce waste
• Green Wall Building (November 23):
o We are thrilled to share that we have secured the necessary materials to construct another Green Wall, a development in our efforts to make our school a greener place
We appreciate your support! Earth Week is a fantastic opportunity for our school environment!
Thank you for reading, and have a terrific remainder of your week.
Sincerely,
Joe Sturgeon
