Dear Centennial High School Community,
If you have dropped off or picked up a child at Centennial this week, you have likely noticed that pre-construction work associated with the addition of six modular classrooms is underway. It is possible that the six modular classrooms may be available for student use by late October, though we are planning internally more conservatively. We hope to have students in the new modulars in time for the beginning of Semester 2 in the coming school year. We thank you in advance for your patience during this project. It is sad to see how our beautiful south entryway will be largely obscured by these modular classrooms, but such are the times when the population of south Calgary continues to grow rapidly.
Please read on for a few updates.

Better Late Than Never!
- There is always a danger singling out individuals and teams for various accolades in a School Messenger
- To that end, last week I forgot to include a couple pretty significant accomplishments related to our athletics programs
- A huge congrats to our Senior Boys Rugby team, who took home the Division 2 City Championship in dominant fashion!
- We have 3 teacher rugby coaches who are retiring this year (Mr. Dickson – Senior Boys, Mr. Hornby – Junior Boys, and Mr. Billing – Junior Boys)
- All 3 finished their outstanding careers by bringing Gold home to Centennial – congratulations to all of our coaches and athletes!
- A huge congratulations as well to Neveah M, who won Provincial Gold in the Unified Shotput event, as well as Neveah and partner Kimberley B, who won Silver in the Unified Sport Provincial 100m!
