Dear Centennial High School Community,

We hope our students are managing their Final Exam preparation and completion well.  This can be a stressful time of year, but the experience of Final Exams (in my opinion) has a multitude of long-term benefits for all students.  I hope they do well, as they finish up the school year.  Please read on for a couple of brief but important information pieces.

IMPORTANT FOR GRADE 12 STUDENTS

  • Grade 12 students need to ensure they have a myPass account, and that their mailing address in they myPass account is accurate
  • This is the address where High School Diplomas and Certificates of School Completion will be sent
    • If students do not yet have a myPass account, please have them visit the Main Office or T Wing Guidance Office for assistance
  • Also, Grade 12 students are reminded that after June 30 they will no longer have access to their CBE email, saved files, or Iris information

Locker Items

  • Students who did not clean out their lockers can pick up their personal items from the Main Office (their lockers have been cleaned out)

Book Returns

  • Please ensure your child returns their books to the Learning Commons as soon as they are finished with them
    • This is especially critical for Grade 12 students, to avoid lost book fees
  • Textbooks and novel studies are due on the day of the Final Exam for the respective course (or sooner)
  • Library books are now overdue and must be returned as soon as possible to avoid the aforementioned fees

Provincial Track & Field Winners!

  • Adam N., off to UCLA in the Fall, won GOLD in both the Provincial Senior Men’s 200m and 400m events – congrats Adam!
  • Adam N., Tife A., Bami A., and Orrin A. took SILVER in the Men’s 4X400m relay!
  • Tife A. and Liam H. won BRONZE in the Unified Triathlon event!
  • Congratulations to all of our athletes representing Centennial High School at Provincials!

Modular Classroom Update at Centennial High School (A Verbatim Message from The Calgary Board of Education)

We would like to provide an update on the installation of six modular classrooms at Centennial High School. We anticipate work will begin June 16, 2026, with the units moving on site in mid to late July.  Full construction is expected to be complete by late fall 2026.  Safety measures will be in place throughout the project to support the well-being of students, staff and community members.  This includes enclosing the construction area in fencing and coordinating work to minimize disruption to learning.  Construction will take place at the rear (south side) of the school and is not expected to affect parking or access.  If you have any questions about this work, you may email facilityprojects@cbe.ab.ca.

Thank you for reading, and have a fantastic weekend.

Sincerely,

Joe Sturgeon, Principal
