Dear Centennial High School Community,

As I type this, another busy week at Centennial is almost in the books.  Last week ended with an incredible night at Shouldice Athletic Park, as our Senior Football team took home the Division 2 City Championship on Friday before a packed house, in one of the most exciting high school football games I have ever seen.  That makes it a double-city-championship season for our football program!  Congratulations to all coaches, athletes, trainers, managers, families and supporters of Coyote Football.

Please read on for several important updates:

Upcoming Casino – Volunteers Needed!

School Development Plan (SDP) and School Improvement Results Report (SIRR)

NE Roundabout Reminder

  • For those new to our school community, and as a reminder to all, the small roundabout outside the NE entrance of our school is off limits to regular traffic from 8:15 to 8:40am and 3:10 to 3:35pm
  • The roundabout is reserved for buses who drop off and pick up students in our Inclusive Education programs – several of whom experience mobility challenges
  • We try to put an orange traffic cone at the entrance of the roundabout to block traffic, but in some cases we are seeing parents getting out of their vehicles, moving the cone, and then parking in the roundabout – blocking access for the buses

Lifetouch Picture Retakes

  • As a follow-up reminder from a Messenger sent earlier this week, photo retakes are Wednesday, December 3

Student Graduation Information Virtual Assembly

  • There will be a virtual Grad Assembly for Grade 12 students during Period 2 on Friday, December 5
  • Period 2 will begin at 9:59am on December 5 (7 minutes earlier than usual)
  • Students with Period 2 spares should go to the Learning Commons at that time to get important information

  • The Book Sale is December 8 – 12, run by the Centennial Book Club, with all proceeds going to our lunch program supporting students facing food insecurity
  • Thank you to everyone who has already donated books for this important cause!

Parking Passes

  • A reminder that students parking in our school lot must display a current parking pass
  • Passes can be purchased at the Business Office
  • Vehicles without displayed parking passes may be ticketed by Calgary Bylaw officers, beginning next week
