Dear Centennial High School Community,

We hope this message finds you safe and that your respective commutes around the city have not been too awful today!  The snow started around 3:30am this morning, so we did not have an opportunity to arrange plowing for the Centennial lots.  We hope to rectify that overnight, so that our lots are less treacherous tomorrow.

Please read below for a couple quick updates:

From the Guidance Department: Upcoming Post-Secondary Visit Dates

  • Thursday, November 21 – St. Mary's University, 8:30 – 9:15am
  • Wednesday, November 27 – Centre for Arts and Technology, 8:30 – 9:15am
  • Monday, December 2 – Thompson Rivers University (Kamloops), 8:30 – 9:15am

From the Green Earth Club

  • The following is a message from the Centennial Green Earth Club:
  • Imagine the joy of waking up on Christmas morning and rushing downstairs only to feel the emptiness of finding no gifts under the tree.  This is the reality for many kids.  Play it Forward, a Green Earth Club initiative, will aim to fill that void – not just with a toy but also with a message that you are not alone and that we see you and are here for you.  Your donations may not seem like much, but to a child on Christmas morning it can mean the world.  We at Green Earth Club urge you to donate gently used toys to help bring a smile to a child’s face, and continue to spread holiday cheer throughout our community.  Donations will go to the Women In Need Society [WINS], a non-profit organization.  Gently used toys can be brought to the Main Office or Upper Cafeteria from November 14 – 30.  Examples of gently used toys include stuffed animals, Barbie dolls, dump trucks, etc.

Congratulations to a Coyote Alumnus!

  • Congratulations to Centennial Class of 2022 alumnus Payton W, who is recipient of a $20,000 Entrance Scholarship at Concordia University of Edmonton
  • It is great to see so many Coyotes thriving and succeeding in the post-high school world!

Thank you for reading, and have a great week.

Sincerely,

Joe Sturgeon
