Centennial High School Updates – May 21, 2025 Dear Centennial High School Community, Congratulations once again to our graduating Class of 2025! Last Friday was an incredible day of celebration. Kudos to our Grad Committee, our students, staff, and greater community for pulling off a truly fantastic ceremony and banquet. Please read below for some updates and information. CSSAC Superstars! - This afternoon, Kyla L (Grade 12) and Greyson J (Grade 11) joined Ms. Kalala at the final Chief Superintendent Student Advisory Council gathering of the year
- Thank you to Kyla and Greyson for their exceptional dedication in representing Centennial students – Kyla has done this work for two years now!
- Thank you also Ms. Kalala for your vision and guidance of these tremendous students
Celebrations of our FAPA (Fine and Performing Arts) Programs! - May has been a big month for the arts at Centennial – beginning with our outstanding Spring Music Concert and the performances of our Symphonic Band and Choir at the Graduation Ceremony; and there is more to come!
- Thursday May 22 at The Centennial High School Theatre
- Drama & Technical Theatre programs are hosting a One-Acts Showcase
- Drama 20/30 Mainstage Performance Evening
- Doors Open at 5:15pm, shows start at 5:30pm
- Director 30 One-Act performances, starring Drama 10, 20 & 30 students, will be on-stage
- In addition, the Spring Drama 20/30 Mainstage Lockdown, written by Douglas Craven, will be featured on-stage
- Director 30 pieces have also been, and will be, on-stage for Lunchbox Theatre throughout the months of April and May
- Art: throughout the month of May artwork will be created for a show that will be on display at the CBE Indigenous Graduation Ceremony held at Centennial on May 30
- Students will work with Indigenous Artist Angela Hall, who will run virtual workshops with a variety of Art classes to create personal artwork based on healing and connecting to nature
- @chscoyote and Yotes Social TV will have more advertising and in-depth coverage of all these events and celebrations throughout the month

Calgary Board of Education Indigenous Graduation Ceremony - Centennial High School is proudly hosting the system-wide Graduation Ceremony at our school after school on May 30
- Thank you to Mr. Huppie, Mr. Pierpoint, our Fine Arts program, and the larger Centennial and CBE staff teams for all the work put in to make this a fantastic celebration for all graduating Indigenous students (and their families) from across the CBE
No Food Service Friday, May 23 - Our school cafeteria will be closed this Friday – food service will resume on Monday, May 26
- Please encourage your student to bring a lunch with them!
Class of 2025 Pancake Breakfast - It has tradition at Centennial that staff cook and serve breakfast to our graduating students as they arrive on or near the last day of classes
- This year, the pancake and sausage breakfast will take place before school on Tuesday, June 10
- Thank you to CHiPS (the Centennial High School Parent Society) for funding this opportunity to honour our departing students
Important Year-End Reminders for Students - At the end of the school year students leaving the Calgary Board of Education will lose access to all CBE platforms, which include:
- Brightspace by D2L
- Google Workspace for Education (including Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Classroom)
- This impacts all graduating students or those otherwise leaving the CBE (moving or attending a school in a different jurisdiction)
- Before June 27, students must save any files they wish to retain in personal storage locations
