Dear Centennial High School Community, I hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday season. We are back at it at Centennial, with two more weeks of Semester 1 classes to go after tomorrow. All this week our incredible Culinary Arts students and staff have been arriving very early, preparing delicious breakfast entrees for purchase. It has been most impressive to see well over a dozen students here by 7:00am daily (including on the very first day back from Winter Break) to engage in learning and provide this service. Kudos to all of you in Culinary Arts! Please see below for a number of additional updates. Important January Dates - The last day of Semester 1 classes is Friday, January 23
- Semester 2 classes begin Wednesday, January 28
- Please note there are no classes on January 26 or 27
- January 30 is a Non-Instruction Day, so no classes for students
Semester 2 Course Change Requests - Students may request changes to their Semester 2 timetable until Wednesday, January 21
- Please note that many classes are already full, so changes may be limited or not possible
- All timetable changes must be made in person by the student with their Guidance Counsellor – requests will not be accepted by email
- Mx. Mead (Student Last Name A-G)
- Ms. Minhas (Student Last Name H-N)
- Ms. Hunter (Student Last Name O-Z)
- Guidance Counsellors are available for drop-in support during tutorial and after school; if a student prefers to book an appointment they may do so by visiting T Wing Guidance and scheduling a time with our Guidance secretary Ms. Harrison
- Semester 2 classes begin January 28 – no timetable changes will be made once Semester 2 has started
Parking Passes - Yesterday we left reminder slips on vehicles parked in the Student Parking lot without displaying the required current (2025/26) parking pass
- We are hoping that this reminder will provide students time to purchase a pass prior to Bylaw officers enforcing our lot and ticketing vehicles in the coming weeks
- Parking passes cost $42 and can be purchased at our Business Office
School Council Meeting – January 28 at 7:00pm - At our next School Council meeting I will share information and welcome feedback regarding our School Development Plan, school budget, and data trends as relates to academic performance and student well-being
- We welcome you to join us (Wednesday, January 28 @ 7:00pm in the school Learning Commons)
Open House and Grade 9 to 10 Transitions - Our Grade 9 Open House is Thursday, January 29 at 7:00pm

- Additionally, our Guidance Team has been visiting our feeder schools to support these pending student transitions, and our Administration Team will be visiting our two largest feeder schools (MidSun and Samuel W. Shaw) this month for parent/student information assemblies
- It’s amazing to think that we are already preparing for the 2026/27 school year!
