Dear Centennial High School Community, It is already the last day of April – wow time flies! Today we have some of our most talented and creative students at DramaFest, while our Connections Week continues with “Coffee with Joe” (where students are encouraged to sit down with me over a snack and share their feedback about the school). Budget and staff season is upon us, Grad around the corner, spring athletics in full swing. The school is as busy as ever. Please read below for a couple quick updates. School Council Meeting – Tonight at 7pm! - Our next School Council meeting is tonight at 7pm
- The meeting is at Centennial High School, in the Learning Commons
- Please consider joining us to hear updates, ask questions, and share your input
Spanish Exchange Students are Back! - This week we welcomed home Centennial students who spent the past several weeks abroad
- Students returned from their Spanish exchange experiences in Spain and Mexico
- Welcome back Coyotes (Alexia B, Nishanko C, Aoife F, Stella M, Nadia R, and Yana S)!
- Thank you Ms. Babin for coordinating these enriching opportunities for Centennial students
Rock-A-Thon Raises Over $16,000! - This past Friday dozens of Centennial students rocked all day and night (on rocking chairs, not to Motley Crue) in the Lower Cafeteria
- Student teams raised money to earn special bonuses such as plug-ins and other luxuries during the day
- Ultimately, these dedicated students raised over $16,000 for the Alberta Children’s Hospital!
- Over the past few years, this specific Centennial fundraiser has raised over $100,000 for the Children’s Hospital – exceptional!
- Thank you to Mr. Dickson, our Leadership teachers and students, the Rock-A-Thon participants, and all donors to this wonderful cause
Have a great day,
Joe Sturgeon Principal Centennial High School |
