Dear Centennial High School Community,

I received a really nice message this morning that I would like to take a moment to share:

Good morning.  On Wednesday, September 17, I was hiking Powderface to Prairie Trail with 3 other ladies.  All of us in our 70s.  We came across your Grade 11 PE students out for the same hike.  I just want to let you know how polite, funny, courteous, and kind they all were.   It renews one’s faith in the next generation.  Kudos to the teachers along with them as well.

The staff of Centennial believe in our students, and in the next generation.  I am proud to hear that our Phys-Ed students (and staff) made a positive impression on these hikers.  I have received several similar emails over the years at Centennial.  Each message reaffirms what we know to be true: our students are genuinely good people.  They care about their peers and greater community, and the world they are growing up in.  Thank you for raising children who conduct themselves respectfully, and who exude such admirable character as representatives of their families, their school, and their generation.

Please read on for a number of information items.

Modular Classrooms

  • Centennial High School is one of a number of CBE schools scheduled to have modular classrooms (portables) installed in the coming months
  • Initially plans were for installation to begin in late October of this year, though the CBE has informed me that delays are probable
  • Centennial will ultimately have six modular classrooms installed (two at the south end of each of our classroom wings)
  • The intent of these classrooms is to ease impending pressure on space at CHS, as our student population is forecast to rise substantially in the coming years
  • I will keep our community informed as I receive more information about probable dates for portable installation

Fees

  • Fees are now posted and can be paid through your myCBE account
  • Thank you in advance for attending to your child’s fees

Thank you for taking the time to read this Messenger, and please enjoyable a wonderful weekend.
