Dear Centennial High School Community, It is a big week at Centennial. Both football teams are vying for City Championships, while two volleyball teams are still in the race to do the same. Our school production of The Outsiders is nearing (see below for information on a possible Dinner Theatre Evening), basketball tryouts are underway, and teaching and learning is finally getting back into the full routine of high school. Please read below for several important updates. The Outsiders Dinner Theatre! The Outsiders is on-stage at the Yotes Drama Society this Fall - Once again there is an opportunity to attend Dinner Theatre and the show – Thursday December 11 at 5:15pm (showtime 7:00pm)
- Our incredible Culinary Arts Team will prepare a 3 course meal, and the cast and crew of the show will serve our guests!
- In order for the Dinner Theatre to go ahead we must pre-book 50 tickets (cost is $35)
- If you would like to be our guest before seeing the last performance of The Outsiders please fill in the google form through the link below by Friday, November 21at noon
- If there is sufficient interest and the event goes ahead, you will be emailed and given instructions for how to pay for the tickets

Football City Championship Games! - Our football program has had a great (albeit interrupted) season
- Juniors play for the Division 1 City Championship this Wednesday, November 19 at 7:30pm (Hellard Field at Shouldice)
- Seniors play for the Division 2 City Championship this Friday, November 21at 7:30pm (Hellard Field at Shouldice)

Volleyball Semi-Final Games! - Our volleyball program has also enjoyed a successful season, with two teams still vying for City Championships
- Junior Boys play in the Division 1 Semi-Final TONIGHT at Western Canada High School – 5:00pm game time
- Senior Girls play in their Division 1 Semi-Final game tomorrow, November 18 at 5:00pm, also at Western
- If victorious tonight, the Junior Boys play in the City Championship game here at Centennial – this Friday at 5:00pm
- If victorious tomorrow, the Senior Girls will play in the City Championship game at St. Francis High School – this Saturday at 2:30pm

Student Progress Conferences - Student Progress Conferences will take place Friday, November 28, 8:30am – 1:30pm
- The conferences will be held virtually, via Microsoft Teams
- Conferences (10 minute time slots) can be booked starting this Thursday, November 20 at 4:00pm (bookings will close November 28 at 8:00am)
- Conferences are booked through your myCBE account in PowerSchool
Centennial Book Sale – We Need Your Help! - Do you have books at home that you no longer read?
- We’d love to give them a second life!
- Please donate gently used books to our upcoming Book Sale
- The Book Sale is December 8 – 12, run by the Centennial Book Club
- All proceeds from the sale will go towards helping ensure students experiencing food insecurity have access to breakfast and lunch at Centennial
- Please drop off your donations at one of our collection boxes, during school hours until December 5
- Your generosity will make a real difference for our students – thank you for supporting both literacy and wellness in our school community!
From our Guidance Department: Upcoming Post-Secondary Visits & Open Houses - Post-Secondary visits continue at Centennial; this is a great opportunity for students to drop in and talk to a representative to ask any questions they may have about post-secondary
- Thursday, November 20: University of Ottawa, 8:30 – 9:15am
- Monday, November 24: University of Alberta (Augustana), 8:30 – 9:15am
- Students are also reminded of the following in-person and virtual Open Houses at various post-secondary institutions in the province:
- Dalhousie University (virtual): November 15
- St. Francis Xavier University (in person Calgary event): November 19
- University of Ottawa (virtual): November 25

- Yearbooks are NOT being sold via your myCBE account – they can only be purchased via the Jostens website
- Each yearbook is $50 and offers a wonderful way to relive the unforgettable memories made throughout the year
- Be sure to order yours by February 28, 2026!
Parking Passes - An important reminder for any students parking in our school lot that they are required to purchase a parking pass, which must be displayed in their vehicle at all times when parked in the lot
- Students can purchase parking passes by scanning the QR code outside the school Business Office
- There are still some students who have purchased passes but who have not picked up the physical pass to display in their vehicle – please go to the Business Office to get your pass if you are one of these people
- There are also several students who have requested but not yet paid for or picked up a pass – please go to the Business Office if that is you
School Council Meeting - Our next School Council & Parent Society meeting will take place Wednesday, November 26
- The meeting will be in our Learning Commons at 7:00pm
